It is memory related error, the strange thing is that, I opened an RMA for a return, came back and boot it one more time. It is now made it through the check and now showing on the monitor. Weirdest day every.

i have asrock x79 extreme4 board with i7 3820 .. i have a very bad problem with my rams

ive got 2 kit of dual channel ripjaws x 1600 cl7 ( 4x2gb ) but i can only use 3 sticks of them .. becuase of one dimm slot calld ( DIMM_B1 )
All of my sticks have been tested and no issue
that
when i put ram sticks like this . i've got error 67 an system dose not post

DIMM_D1..........DIMM_C1.......................CPU......................DIMM_B1........................DIMM_A1
RAM SEATED... RAM SEATED............CPU.......................RAM SEATED................... RAM SEATED

but when i use like this system will worked fine ::

ram seated ..............ram sated...............cpu....................none..................ram seated

the interesting part is that when i use only one ram stick on each slots. the system dose not post if i put the stick on DIMM_B1 . But other slots will be ok

i have tried different bios from 1.60 to 1.90 but none of them help me.

Try using only one stick of ram, and try it in each slot.

You can also try using only 2 sticks, to see if you have a bad slot, or a bad stick of memory.

I had the exact problem with my first Extreme6 board, the B1 slot was bad, I RMAed it and the replacement worked perfectly.

Code:

tried that. and i believed that sticks are good . its from slot.

i hope i solves by somthing like new bios cause RMA is quite hard to me

Updating the BIOS is worth a try, but doubtful that it will fix your problem.

It looks like it will need to be RMA'd. helpinghand.gif

MAYBE I SHOULD FORGET RMA .. MAYBE I SHOULD FORGET QUAD CHANNEL......

BTW THIS IS THE DESCRIPTION OF BIOS 1.60 ::

1. Update EZOC table
2. Update CPU code.
3. Fix system may hang at post when install memory at DIMM_C or DIMM_D.

MY PROBLEM IS WITH DIMM_B SLOT .. I HOPE IT SOLVES BY NEW BIOS

I doubt the bios update will have any affect. Don't go away, let us know what you have tried and what the outcome is.

I just purchased the Extreme6 motherboard and noticed that there was a plate around the socket. Is this plate removeable or is it okay to use with aftermarket coolers? My Dh14 came with a backplate, but with this plate that is on there to begin with, which one am I supposed to use? I can't imagine the one on the motherboard is universal amongst all coolers, or is it?

Bios version 1.40 was released on Thursday for the Fatality Pro.

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20X79%20Professional/?cat=Download&o=BIOS

The description only mentions "Update CPU code" this time around, gents, so it's probably nothing groundbreaking.
