I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. I agree with theseekerofthefun though. Much info is needed, for a board with an MSRP of ~$600. Is it what is expected of such a price?

I can give you guys a few words.

I have the Mushkin Redline 2133MHz in my board and have 4x4GB and running @2133MHz without any problem. I will get another 16GB next week that I will use as a RAMDisk.

I also have the OCZ RevoDrive3 X2 as boot drive and that workes without any issue (had to wait many bios upgraded from EVGA to be able to use it as boot drive (bios 037))

Have the 3930 and ran some benchmarks with it @4,8GHz with a simple overclock and no problems.

So basicly, this board is superb.......if I put aside my horrible RAID10 speed on the LSI controler.

Hope this helps someone, if any questions.......just ask.

I'm still having issues with my mushkin @ 2133, with 4 sticks. Not sure why, but no settings have increased stability.

He didnt fix the LSI Controller issue, he just set it up in a different way.

Instead of hardware bootable RAID which doesn't perform very well, I re-flashed the LSI chip to IT mode which work's good in JBOD mode with Win 7 software RAID. It's just I cannot boot/load OS on that volume anymore. It will just be for App's/games. I will need to get another 2 SSD's for the OS to RAID up on the two Intel 6GB ports.

I think it is clear now that the LSI 2308 chip can't handle RAID10......so if you are planing on buying this board and use one of the biggest selling point [LSI Raid chip 2308] and use it for RAID10, then forget it.

I am back to adding my Adaptec Raid card and then occupy one of the x16 slots so basicly I am back to just a normal X79 board that can't handle 3-4 GPU in x16.

The board is still very new. I would thinks a good company like Asrock will try to correct this with an updated bios. Hopefully.....

I myself have only 2 SSD & 1 HDD. The main reasons i bought the board was for 4-way SLI, upgraded 24+2 Power phase design, & integrated quad core sound processor. So hopefully i will be happy when it gets here.

Too bad this isn't AsRock's fault, the LSI chip it self seam not to be able to handle it. Another guy to tried this for me on his SAS2008 LSI chip, and the excatly same results, Raid 10 sucks, Raid0 is good.

I would exactly say Raid 0 good, well hardware based anyway. Only works decent with software RAID 0.

And too bad also that LSI takes no responebility for there products though it is 100% not AsRock's fault. Here is the answer from there costumer service.

Please accept my apologies, but you are using an OEM controller (Onboard Chip), purchased from ASRock. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide direct support for OEM products. Please engage ASRock for support on this issue.

Please, don’t hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

I have once tried to send AsRock e-mail and that was 3 weeks ago and still no answer.......anyone got a good e-mail address to send to?

That is what I expected. I have a lot of experience integrating OEM products and that response is typical.

I contacted ASRock about this issue through their official technical support web form last Wednesday and I still haven't heard back. I guess ASRock is one of those companies that really lacks support and has one old dude sitting in a basement ignoring emails as their "support division". thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif
