The LE is a pretty skimped board. It has only 4+2 phases, Realtek NIC and it doesn't support dual x8 PCIe slots ( so if you want to crossfire/sli then you'll have one card on a 16 lanes and the other on 4 lanes which is less than ideal and will hurt your performance with a 7950)
However, why not look at the P8Z68-V / gen3 ? It has PCIe3.0 support and is identical to the other P8Z68-V boards in terms of overclocking capability and features (Intel NIC, 12+4 phase design, ...).
The difference with the pro is 2 less SATA 6Gb/s (which are on a marvell controller on the PRO), no internal firewire (will be phased out by USB 3.0 I reckon) and no USB 3.0 PCI bracket (just 2 USB 3.0 ports on a PCI bracket you can hook up internally).
So if you can live without these features I'd suggest having a good look at the P8Z68-V /GEN3
Looks like the pro is only $10 more on newegg. I would take that then, if it jumps back to 219 then I'd reconsider. Here in Belgium the price difference is around € 20 so I'll probably go for the P8Z68-V myself (unless Z77 launches before I place my order)
PS: shouldn't open box stuff be cheaper? weird Americans ....Edited by Bloitz - 3/4/12 at 1:38am
