Personally I think they're the best games.
They're essentially remakes of Gold and Silver, only 4th gen, and on the DS
Here's a quick summary of the Generations: thumb.gif
1st: Red, Blue, Yellow - 151 Pokemon
2nd: Gold, Silver, Crystal - 251 Pokemon
3rd: Ruby Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, Leaf Green - 386 Pokemon
4th: Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver - 493 Pokemon
5th: Black, White - 649 Pokemon
Black 2 and White 2 have recently been announced but not much is known about them.
I'd recommend having a go at a 4th gen game, seeing as they've finished the generation, and you've always got the wi-fi functionality.
People say that they lost it around gen 3, but I think that's when they started getting good! biggrin.gif
I'd also have a look at serebii.net, a great website for all of you pokemon needs tongue.gif

There are 5 generations? wow
I feel like I should buy some pokemon games for my original DS now. I remember I was in like the 3rd of 4th grade when Pokemon was on TV. My sister and I would always run home from the bus to watch it. rolleyes.gif

I had/have? Like 400 Pokemon cards too, except a few of the good Originals got stolen (Clefairy and the like), mine are mostly the 1st gen ones though. I kind of wish I got more rolleyes.gif

For reference: I'm 18.

Well, does it save to cartridge, or to the memory card? such as if i had one memory card for each of us? would be much cheaper.

The save files can only be stored on the cartridge, and one per cartridge. It's done this way to prevent from cloning Pokemon, items, etc.

So, you will need to purchase 2 copies of the game to have both of you play a separate save file.
