run GPU-Z to ensure both your ports are running at 8x. If they are, run a benchmark on both, one at a time, with the other pulled out of your system, to see if both perform as they should. This will eliminate the variable of a faulty card. If both are good, id call it a driver problem. I dont have advice on a good cleanup method, but I hear ATIman Uninstaller works well. Google how that works. I am generally OCD with this stuff and tend to do a complete format and reinstall of Windows to be sure. Make sure your drivers and CAPs are the latest.

Just ran a test with crossfire disabled got a score of 5107, i wont have time today to pull the cards and test each one, will hopefully be able to do it tonight. gpu-z confirms that pci express is running at 8x running catalyst driver 12.1

edit: I've tried to install atiman but for some reason its giving me an issue with saying i cant install it for all users on this machine, im installing as an admin, with it not working, ive been using cc cleaner, along with driver.net cleaner

That roughly sounds like a good number. Do the same thing, but with the other card to see if you get a very similar score. If you do, i'd say drivers. I had a problem with my drivers not allowing me to flip my monitor into portrait mode, so I just started from scratch. They can be a huge pain.

Yanks can you post me a link to a set of drivers that you know scsle and work really well for crossfire? Im gonna try cleaning and reinstalling before i pull the cards, also whats something i can use to get the registry cleaned up from the drivers? Also can you post me a procedure, thanks!

What I would try is the following:

Uninstalling the ATI software Via control panel when booted into windows. Reboot.

Boot into safe mode. Run Phyxion Driver Sweeper on ATI Display drivers. Reboot when prompted.

Boot into safe mode. Run CCLeaner on registry. Reboot

Boot into Windows. Install the newest drivers from ATI's website. Its pretty self explainintory. Also get the newest caps. I believe they require a reboot between driver and CAPs install. Make sure both cards are installed with CFX bridge when you do this.

If this doesnt fix it, I personally would do a fresh install of windows and then install the drivers, but this is because I am lazy. Other members may have other suggestions.

Have you checked to make sure the "new" card was in proper working order before trying to add it to the Xfire set up? if not do so now. Also are both of the GPU's at identical core and memory clocks?
