I use coretemp and realtemp. If the info layout is standard, you want to watch core 0 through 3 and the package numbers. It should be in this order current temp / minimum temp recorded / maximum temp recorded
it is my understanding that you want to really try to stay on the low side of the 70's for max temp. lower is better so if you can max in the 60's or 50's its great.

biggrin.gif Good Luck! :thumb.gif Oh..Your temps are too high frown.gif
I would recommend getting a better cooling solution..Maybe re-mounting the cooler you have, even.
Lowering the voltage would help.I'm gonna guess you're @ 5 ghz

What is the CPUTIN temp? I was following that and it gets to maybe 62c under prime95. 4.9ghz is stable but to stay under 75c I would probably have to back off a lot. Doesn't it shut down with too high temperatures automatically?

disregard the difference between core 0 and core 3. I need to reseat the block once again. but temps should not be maxing in the 80's 90's or over that. I have never seen my temps go like that ever and I'm running an i7 2700k @ 4.9GHz w/ HT on 24/7

I'm not sure what CPUTIN is... none of the temp stuff I use refers to a CPUTIN at all. you should just get realtemp of somethinglike it as its not flooding you with other stuff that could potentially confuse you and possibly lead you to damage your parts.

instead of dropping your OC, you should better adjust your Vcore. 1.43 vcore for a 4.7 or even a 4.9 is high.

That is my stable 24/7 set up on an i7 with HT on. Maybe someone else can confirm this but I think hyper threading causes the use of higher voltage so throwing aside the silicon lottery for a second, you should need virtually the same or a little less vcore than me @ 4.9Ghz. dropping your vcore will also help to decrease your temps. You need to spend a little time stabilizing your OC. once you find a speed you want for 24/7 usage and its stable at _.__v note the numbers its working at and slowly drop the vcore 1 notch at a time until it becomes unstable again. The jump it back up 1 notch and you have your minimum vcore and its stable. generating less heat too.

I already did all of that. 4.7ghz @ 1.42v is the lowest voltage it will take to stay stable. Below that it crashes. frown.gif
