UV filters that works?

i am looking to get an actual UV filter that works i currently have a Bower UV filter and i exposed it to UV light and it didnt block the light, which UV filters work? the video below is not my video but pretty much is what happen with me. i dont want to get a polarizing filter cause i don't need one yet but i do want to get a UV filter that actually works any idea?

i use b+w mrc uv filters. i buy them for the mrc part, not the uv part and they work great as general protection. as far as pricing goes, their up there on the stratosphere, however.

uv filters aren't really needed to block uv since digital sensors and new lenses are designed to block them anyway.

Nice video. I don't have a UV lamp to test with, but I've always used Hoya HMC or Digital Filters. Given that Hoya has manufactured filters since the film days, I'm sure they actually block UV. B+W, and of course Nikon and Canon filters would also be good. Bower is a pretty cheap brand, so it really doesn't surprise me it's not really UV coated. Given the effectiveness of the UV filter built over the sensors in all digital cameras, UV blocking really isn't needed. Most people use them mainly as "cheap" protections for their lens.

i was also reading this review, now am thinking of getting a Tiffen Haze-1 after reading that.
