Thread Starter

i just want to know that the caption of this thread is right or wrong.....because there are many who do buy only reference cards for its sleek and simple design...

As far as I know, people like reference cards because aftermarket coolers and waterblocks are generally made for the reference design.

It's sucks to buy a card, buy watercooling, and realize your $100+ gpu block won't fit.

You want to get a reference card so that water blocks will fit on them.

Also with non reference, the company can do what they want. They can either beef it up with a better power system for better overclocks (MSI) or reduce the power system to save costs (XFX). Some non reference are fine while others are not. Just need to do your research to see if it is a good card or not.

Pretty much this^. That and Reference cards are generally tweaked easier.

If tool free means a can of compressed air or the awesome sauce Data Vac, then yes. tongue.gif

LOVE my non-reference 570. Sooo quiet, while maintaining high OCs. Custom power design, I have my voltage set at 1.125mv (max), 24/7, not a single issue.

So I say NO, non-reference does NOT suck, if you know what you're buying, and how to properly utilize it.

Green cards are different, your reference boards rather suck in some key model lineups don't they?

How do you tell a ref from non ref?

What is that?
