need help setting up ddr2-1066 - Page 6

Well its been an interesting afternoon. Reset BIOS, played around with the ram settings. Far from stable yet, but at this stage I have managed to run BF3 for 30 minutes with the following setup:

RAM: 800 @ 4-4-4-12-16-2T, 2.0V
CPU: 17x 209 = 3.536GHz
Volts: 1.472V (<- single power plane board)
NB: 2.484GHz
Load temps: CPU 42C, NB 47C

It used to crash in BF3 after 5 mins with 3.45GHz CPU and 2.6GHz NB @1.52V, 1066 RAM@2.1V, plus it took a lot more voltage/heat to get there.

So basically now (still running prime95 as I type) I have gained 100Mhz with less voltage and heat, and RAM and NB almost at the same speed. Fingers crossed Prime doesn't crash on me. Will keep pushing the FSB for the rest of the evening until prime crashes after 20 mins, then back it down a notch and run prime overnight to see if it is stable in the morning. I'd like to keep under 1.5V if I can.

TomLint, from what I have been playing around with today, I would bump up your NB volts a little like others have mentioned. This thing is running at 1.375V here. You said 1.2V, seems a little low?

Just had my first memory related BSOD 0x50 at FSB210, so going to have to fiddle with timings. Whats the first one I should change?

gskill told me to set it at 4-4-4-12-22-T2 but its still unstable but if the NB needs to be raised then i may do that to the voltage you told me to use that timming so try that timing and see how it works for you and come back and tell me how it works

The problem with a lot of DDR2 setups in some of the boards that are AM2/AM2+ / AM3 capable are that the physical RAM slots aren't capable of running 1066 across all four slots. Those particular boards were only able to run 2x1066 DIMMS in the first two slots.

Double check your motherboard manual's memory section for clarification. Having four sticks on this boards usually requires you to run them at 800Mhz.
