how are you 13 seconds???

I have the same SSD 64gb, only difference is the slow write speeds.
How are you getting 13 seconds? I did every single tip on increasing speed on boot time. My boot time is 33 seconds...

Takes ten seconds wasted on the "loading operating system" screen

22 Seconds without any tweaks to shorten the boot time, not bad.

Phaedrus, this thread should not be in the SSD subsection, given that you admit HDD results.

Also, what is considered "Desktop" ? The wallpaper appearing ? Or the taskbar and desktop icons appearing ? Or when the mouse stops having the "Working In Background" pointer ?

""Boot time" will be defined in this thread as the time it takes from pressing your computer's power button to Windows Login screen (or desktop if password is disabled)"

So I would say that means desktop as in you see your wallpaper appear.

Thanks Sean!

By the way, congratulations on the Storage Editor post!

Just a question - why is your "Storage" font different from the other editors and moderators and indeed your Editor font ? Just curious. biggrin.gif

Here is the time for my HP Mini 210-2220sp Netbook

TIME: 32 seconds for wallpaper to appear (and it's not the default Windows 7 Starter wallpaper, I'm using the Oceanis program to put the wallpaper I want)

CPU Model & GHz: Intel Atom N550 1.5 Ghz
RAM Amount & MHz: 2048 MB DDR3 1333 Mhz @ 1066 Mhz
GPU: GMA 3150

I will update the post in a few minutes with my main rig.

Edit:

Main rig:

Mainboard Model: Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR
UEFI or BIOS?: Bios
CPU Model & GHz: Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 3.4 Ghz
