So please spare me 2-3 year old gen card maxing everything out. Of course you can max it out, but at what frame rate?
You can notice the clear difference between 60 and 80 FPS like day and night. It's just there, everything is much much more smoother. If you've never had the extra FPS, it's a pity, cause you're missing out on a lot!
Also, the more powerful HW we have, the faster we can improve our software! Our only limitation is in hardware at this moment, you can already create near real life simulations, just not in real time! We NEED much, much faster hardware, something that can do at least 100x what the current gen can. We needed it yesterday, but we'll have to wait at least 10 years.
On topic: it makes sense that if their yields are still low, they are waiting for the process to improve before releasing such a card for a reasonable price.

A 7970 huh? Pics or shens thumb.gif

Because my 6970 will do exactly what you're saying your 7970 won't do. Now, admittedly I only have 2 60hz monitors.. but at 1080p I have no problems with vsync getting 60fps. I'll recheck again on thursday to make sure if you want just pm me and I'll run the test. No reason to be dishonest.

It's not a driver issue, it's slow hardware.

From TechPowerUp review:

Just keep in mind these are AVERAGES, what that means? That means that for my 7970 it drops down (and i've seen it) to 40, and goes up to 120. Check any BF3 benchmark. Hell I've seen it drop to 38 on 64 player servers in Metro.

It's odd that it doesn't say which settings, but I'm guessing Ultra because of the 4xAA wink.gif

Your 6970 gets 40 on average, which means it can easily drop down to the 20s.

Just keep in mind also, that probably all benchmarks never run MP for their results. So when you have 64 players on a server, the FPS drops way way below. wink.gif

I only get 120fps+ when I stare at the ground smile.gif

Hopefully this comes out sooner, rather than later, along with some nice Kepler offerings. I'd like to see competition bring down the prices of GPUs a bit before my next upgrade, which is probably only months away.

I generally Average around 58 - 72 on Multiplayer. I've never seen it drop below 40 but I have seen 100+.

This is just by trolling by OBR so move along please -- nothing to see here. smile.gif

Wrong. Check your facts because OBR correctly predicted Bulldozers performance along with several other interesting news pertaining to Sandy Bridge E. He correctly predicted the week and launch of Sandy Bridge Enthusiast. OBR also correctly showed 7970's performance difference between the GTX 580 and that in Synthetic benchmarks it's performance is more substantial but otherwise it isn't that substantial. Before bashing or criticizing a source JCPUser you should look at the verified claims and the history of such a website before stating such comments.

rolleyes.gif Without using "AMD Optimized" tessellation and 4x MSAA, It dips into the 40s quite often actually.

Theres barely any games that max out a GTX 295, why would you even need a 7970 in CFX for?

this is a thread about the newest dual GPU's
this is OCN, so why not?
