I dunno if you are really serious about this build but if you are...

Read:

There is no such thing as 6-way Crossfire... most you can get is 4-way CF...

Go intel .... get the i5-2500k... or if MONEY ISN'T AND ISSUE this is the BEST money can buy right now, not some lousy '8-core' bulldozer:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131808

This will eventually come up ... this is the power supply you need for 4-way CF 7970s and a OC i7 cpu:

And yes the ram is a waste of money... you won't see real life difference after going above 1600 mhz ram.

Seriously, that mainboard does have 6 pci-e 16x slots, that DOES NOT mean that you can plug in 6 videocards.

1. they will not FIT
2. crossfire supports maximum 4 cards.
3. you would need a powersupply that does not exist today
4. you would probably fry the board
5. overheating would be a huge issues.

if you look at the picture
http://www.gigabyte.us/fileupload/product/2/3880/4377.jpg

thats 4 cards, not 6.

Well if for some reason this is true, first of all no way you can use that "amount" of video cards. secondlly, any CPU will make bottleneck with two or three of those Video cards, it will depend a lot on, what resolution you will be playing, and the Ghz of the CPU. In any case you will have to OC your CPU to get out the power of those video cards. Lower Resolutions with those video cards, you will need at least 4.2Ghz to get all the power, on high res. 3.8Ghz will do it.

That cpu its not the best, intel has better ones, but for gaming the difference its minimal. But if money its not a problem. Intel its your choice!

From what i have been reading 3 gpus are pretty much max anything above that will melt your motherboard 6 is overkill and not even fesable unless hes building 2 separate systems

Heck i have 2x560 ti 448s and i have yet to see a slow down with them at all
