Replacing H100 Fans - Make a Difference?

I have my H100 set up in Push/Pull.. With the H100 Stock Fans on top of the RAD and Scythe Slipstreams under the RAD.

Would changing the fans to anything else provide better temps? I was thinking about putting Yate Loons under the Rad or even on the Rad to replace the H100's.. But if I wont see a temp decrease I dont think its worth it..

What do you guys think??

And yes I am having temp problems.. I think my chip runs hot or that TIM that come on it was amazing and my MX-4 just isnt doing it..

TBH since you're running push/pull, having two/four high speed fans wont do any significant difference (3 degrees C max). You should have noticed from adding push/pull that you only got 1 or 2 degrees extra.

You shouldn't be having temperature problems though...especially with a quad core at 1.4 volts :\.

I have a 6 core at 1.440v, max prime 95 temps with two excalibur fans at 1600rpm only go up to 72 degrees...

When it was the stock tim on it i say max 76c even jacking the v to 1.45.. now with the mx-4 with a pea size dot in the middle. At 1.41v im seeing low 80s.. about the same deal with 2 different chips well one was 49 @ 1.44 and the other 48 @ 1.41.. they just run hot and my ambients stink..

Thanks for your advice i doubt different rans would change temps more than 2c

Im wondering if a fan controller would be better than the h100 3 fan settings.. it get really loud at med and high so i run it on low..

I agree, fans are not going to yield a big difference here.

Are you running intake or exhaust with your setup?

The h100 is set up at the top of the case and is set as an intake.. since temps turned into a hige problem for me i realized i should of.just moved it behinf my other case!! Which is right below a window i like to keep open bc my.room gets so top.. i wish i thought of it earlier it would of made switch my key board so much easier.

I just testes it again and it went from the low 80s to high 60s.. nuts right?? Thats also the wi.dow i put an ac in.. so bam problem solved.

Sorry for the trouble guys but without ur pots i wouldnt of been thinking about it to come up with the idea!!
Will rep you both for sure tomorrow when im at a computer instead of my pho.e!

If you can, an intake setup would net you 3-4 degrees (if you're currently running exhaust). Also, try the line application method, make sure it's vertical, it's much better than the pea method smile.gif.

The h100 stock tim is really good indeed, it's flat and evenly spread and the tim isn't half bad, shin etsu (Dow Corning) which is regarded highly. Really the only solution is for you to get better airflow now, and use the line application method with slightly higher pressure on the mount (if you can do so without damaging anything WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT).

I hope you'll fix it smile.gif

EDITS:

Didn't read your post, forget half the **** I said there.

Have you considered indigo extreme tim? It doesn't seem like a gimmick but smile.gif. (Google it for more info and how to use).

Also a fan controller will work fine, but the fans, being different fans, won't be running evenly.

Also your cpu seems to be throttling before it hits 90's, due to high fluctuation between 80's and 60's. frown.gif.

Yea the stock TIM is pretty nice, high quality stuff, just the right amount. I'm using Shin-Etsu G751 on it now and its 2degrees warmer than it was with the stock TIM, the difference is definitely in the application of it.
I'm in the upper 60's at 75F ambient and 1.42vcore, with one stock fan pushing and two NB M12s in p/p; intake. At about 86-90F, the chip reaches about 78-82c.

What clock are you running at on 1.440v?

Mine is at 4.7Ghz on 1.375v and the H100 stock fan is running on low profile ( not med or high at all)... full load max I've seen is 75'C

you don't need push pull, if its intake then push will be good, if its exhaust use pull. but if you must have push pull then you will need to put push pull as same fans, either have a pair of the stock fans as push pull and your scythes as push pull as well because you don't want different push fans from pull fans

Yea. Sadly the way i had to mount it, the plugs for my slipstreams werent long enough to work. I know there crm maybe alil off but there both rough 2000rpm fans.
So those of you getting amazing temps what speed you running.. i like mine on low so i can sleep at night. But if i were to put it.on high i am sure tps would drop 3-5c
