Personally I don't like Origin because of BF3.

BF3 wont work at all for me, I can join a multiplayer game maybe ever 10-15 attempts, but I've never played any BF games before so I'm pretty lost.

Also, it forces updates and you can use it while it's downloading (like steam lets you)

I played the BF3 beta fine, but now I can't remove it from my games list which is quite annoying.

I find the user interface to be annoying too. Not really sure why, it just annoys me.

Other than that.....its fine- OH NO WAIT, privacy issues.

other than THAT, it's fine....

There are many valid complaints; here's an article that clearly lays out all of Origin's real issues.

EA, you were late to the market, you're short on features, your prices are way too high, your privacy policy is offensive, and your only plan is to strong-arm fans into signing up instead of trying to lure them with deals and giveaways. You've been one of the big dogs for over a decade now. But with Origin, you are the little guy, and you are up against people who saw this future coming before John Riccitiello ever got near the CEO chair.

I find BF3 fustrating because you have to launch the game from a web browser I don't see why they couldn't integrate this into the game so it has to open and close all the time. Played a lot of BF2142 and compare most things to that interface. I just find it fustrating that everything has to go through EA's gatekeeper now in order to play a game from them. I doubt it's going to change or get any better either though so we just have to deal with it in order to play or decide to not play and they'll get that message loud and clear.

What are these "privacy concerns"? Read my link i posted in my reply on the 1st page and even run your own process monitor and do your own research. After you do that and see what is actually going on, what privacy concerns do you have? I'm not here saying "Origin is great" or anything like that but I think a lot of people just say "privacy concerns" and they really have no idea what Origin is doing.

I really do hate all the threads about Steam vs. Origin, but Steam does the same thing (bolded part). Although they do have better sales and giveaways, a lot of games out there require Steam...a lot more than require Origin right now. Steam forces you to use their app also.

It comes down to EA being one of the most evil, profit hungry entities on the planet. They have proven consistently over the years that they will always choose profit over customer satisfaction, basically. They will bleed you dry and then piss on your grave, and so it with a smile. They have been sued so many times for abusing their employees into sweatshop conditions, its not even funny.

EA is the worst thing to ever happen to gaming. Ignoring their others hady business tactics, I despise them for the simple fact that they buy out good design houses, and then milk the **** out of their successful franchise and run what was a good series into the ground. Rinse and repeat. Its their business model, and it disgusts me.

Just wait... you'll see. They are going to pioneer holding back content that should be included in retail titles, and instead release it piece by piece via paid DLC to get that much more money out of you. Ugh.

Screw EA.

Oh, and they throw their money around to create monopolies. They regularly pay for EXCLUSIVE rights to make games for things like the NFL, Nascar, etc so that no other company can even make competing games.... and then procede to make crap hack job versions of them, since thats what happens without competition. For a company claiming to be Artists, all they do is stifle creativity.

Furthermore, realize that EA is one of the main reasons PC gaming is dying. They are the ones who buy out great PC titles, and then turn them into console designs with PC ports.

I hate Origin and EA, but I still use it for Crysis 2, BF3, and future games. I think it's impractical to use both, while EA could have just released BF3 and ME3 on Steam as well as ToR, but it's not a big issue for me. Just impractical.
