OCN slower than ever.

I used to come on t his website with a good computer, I never noticed how heavy it was with a lower end computer.
I'm using a laptop with 2 gigs of ram and yet with 10 tabs opened in firefox, I choose close all and the computer won't respond for at least 3-4 minutes.

Tried on a similar system and same problem. How can this site be so heavy ?
I disabled the caroussel hoping it would help but it doesn't. Anyone has an idea ? Because as of now I have to close all my browser 5 minutes before the end of my lunch break.

Huddler is intensive for some reason.

Maybe because it was designed on a mac

switch to chrome, see what happens. I have a 5 year old laptop, 2 gigs of ram, old core duo and what not. it never gives me problems even with tons of tabs open.

See how much memory it's using with all those tabs open (task manager). It will get into the hundreds of megs, sometimes 400MB+, even with Chrome. With only 2GB you'll probably need to limit your tabs.

Ever since they updated the forum have I had issues loading this site with my PowerMac G4. This is the only website it cannot handle. What I have had to do is get AdBlock plus to filter the unnecessary frames.

To be fair, I don't think the platform was intended to support a 500MHz system from 10+ years ago.

Odd...just curious, which graphics driver package are you using on your ThinkPad? I had a x120e with the E-350 last year around the launch of OCN Huddler and although it was pretty laggy at first, the issues went away after a few weeks.
