SLI, might be a silly question

Thread Starter
I have two GTX570's, got the SLI cable.

This likely defeats the point, however I am currently waiting on pay day to get two 1080p monitors so only have one currently with one DVI.

Can you run those cards in SLI but only connecting one via DVI?

I assume it needs a cable in both to deliver to the monitor, or does it just work by going through the motherboard and card connected with a DVI?

Yes, you can run the two cards in SLI and hook up the monitor as usual thru one of the DVI outputs. You don't need any cables/adapters connecting the outputs on both cards together to deliver to the monitor.

Just put them up, attach the SLI bridge, hook up the monitor as you've done today and enjoy. No need for any big cable changes or whatnot on that part! thumb.gif
