If you can wait a while get a piledriver when it comes out. Otherwise, I think I read that the 960t is faster clock/clock than the fx-6200 and has the same amount of cores. If you really need 2 more cores the fx-8120 is good, but I doubt you will see any performance increase. (AMD guys correct me if I am wrong)

I'm no AMD guy, but I thought the 960T was still a nice proc? Have you tried unlocking it?
Stick with the 960T for now, I went from a 955 @ 3.8 GHz to my 8150 and at only 4.4 GHz, barely an upgrade unless your a really heavy multi-tasker or run the select few apps that take advantage of 8 cores.

Overclocking an 8150 to 4.8 GHz is a noticeable increase in performance, but not really worth the money in your case.

Neither of those processors are a cost-effective upgrade.
If I were in your shoes, I'd save up for a future build, since you're already decked out with SSDs and your GPUs are pretty good.

REALLY, REALLY!!! The bottlenecking thing again.
I had a Phenom II x2 (4.0ghz) with a HD5970 2gb and it did not bottleneck my cpu.

Everybody knows that if you aren't using a current generation processor that you're inadvertently bottle necking yourself biggrin.gif. Oh wait that can't be right..

I'd recommend holding off until Piledriver. You just won't see a large enough improvement from the 960T to justify the purchase of the FX-8120/FX-6200. If money is no issue though, you'll enjoy the experience on the FX-8120.

It did on the MSI 990XA-GD55, but it always locked up the BIOS.Nothing was ever stable on that board, if you ask me it was a pile of chit. I Picked up the ASUS Crosshair V Formula and couldn't be happier. 445 Haven't pushed it at all, I know I can get some more out of it.

I will wait and see what Piledriver has to offer. Thanks for the replies guys.

if you can't oc and/or unlock the 960T will have a hard time even with mid-range cards x2. glad you got it sorted out. 4GHz should be easy.
