squeeze most out of currnet rig.....

Thread Starter
becuase i am awaiting a government paycheck for a couple $k to buya dn build a better one.

i wnat to know if there is anything more i can do with this current set up tho.
msi km4am (6734 ver.), amd 3200+, 52x asus cd-rom, ata-150 WD 80GB HD, ATI x1600--256MB and this ram.
CORSAIR
Series XMS
Model Twinx2048-3200c2
Type 184-Pin DDR SDRAM
Tech Spec
Capacity 2GB (2 x 1GB)
Speed DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Cas Latency 2
Timing 2-3-3-6
Voltage 2.75V
ECC No
Buffered/Registered Unbuffered
Heat Spreader Yes

I am playing the MMO's ( CoV, WoW, DDO and SWG) and want to know if my mem timmings at 2-3-3-6 are acceptible for playing these games or not. i cannot overclock this board b'cause it wasnt built to do it and was wondering should i change the RAM timings for clock speed or lowest latency.
I was figuring i have no real clue as to all teh 'magic' numbers in the timings and dont understand the FAQ real well, and dont even know what my timings for 2-3-3-6, 2t is made for. should i.....am i running the RAM timings to make the most of playing video intensive mmo's? can anyone provide me with timings to make the msot of my situation?

thanks for your input.....it is why i use this site

wish i knew more, but being an intel guy, i cant say much more than intel isnt as affected performance wise as AMD when it comes to timings, im told, tightening timings on an AMD gets good results, i've tried with im 3.0e prescott, and see little difference. but as a rule of thumb, tighter you can run, the better. so long as its stable. its not gonna hurt.

well amd benefits from tighter timings so i would try and keep them tight if possible, if you cant oc the cpu then that will prob yeild the best performance allthough testing will allways prove the best results
