Sapphire 4870 Question - BIOS

Thread Starter
Hello,

Recently i had problems with my old ATI 4870 card.

Every game i was running, PC was freezing.

I was reading around and found out problem could be BIOS.

I changed my BIOS and installed this:

YC2Ss.gif

Is this good version for my card?

I dont have freezing problem any more, but my core clock is locked at 790 Mhz, not able to overclock more.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks!

I did that, with Driver Sweeper in Safe mod, and re-installed, still locked @ 790 Mhz.

No backup, i wouldn't actually flash to old bios again, since any game i played, pc was freezing.

With this bios, at least i can play some of the games.

There is no heating problems.

You have to overclock the card or it will run at BIOS settings. Unless what you meant was unable to change the clock and it was locked at 790MHz.

You have to "enable unofficial overclocking" to have higher clock limits.

HOW TO: Enable UNOFFICIAL overclocking mode in MSI AfterBurner
