Thinking about getting a blu-ray drive - suggestions on software to go with it?

I'm thinking about getting this drive for my PC, but I'm wondering, what's some good blu-ray software to go with it? I heard that PowerDVD 12 just came out, but I've seen a lot of people say that it's pretty terrible (bloatware, lack of features and functionality for $100), so I'm not sure if it's worth it.

So yeah, any suggestions?

I tried going the whole "play Blu-rays on the computer" route, and PowerDVD is pretty much the only way to go. I ran into lots of buffering and reading issues over the years, and when it had trouble playing Scarface without eventually choking on itself, that's when I gave up and bought a PS3.

I have PowerDVD 9 that came with a Samsung Blu-Ray ROM drive and it works just fine. I've heard that newer versions are a pain and not that great. If you can, find a retail bundle drive so you don't have to buy any software. Here's an example of one, but don't know the software that comes with it:

It's more than the ASUS drive you listed, but would you rather spend another $50-$100 buying the software?

I really wish there were freeware Blu-Ray software, but sadly, there isn't due to licencing issues.

Didnt VLC just release 2.0 which supports blu ray playback?

Not directly, and can't without a AACS key. It's a pain cause they're constantly updated so if you have a brand new movie, it won't work if the key has been updated.

I've got a bluray drive in my HTPC, ive used it like literally 4 times. Mine came with powerDVD though for free, and it did work pretty well, better then my actual bluray player. (which i also never use)
