Just run the burn test @ 1.3v
looking a bit better. Is it worth trying to drop the voltage a bit more & see how things go? Or are these figures ok?

Many thanks for all the input thumb.gif

well, if you can drop the voltage or increase the clock speed, that would be better
post #13 of 22
Much much better! Great temps and voltage. 1.3 is fine

I would run 50-100 passes of burn test untill I would declare it 100% stable, but looks great, good job!

i think you can drop the voltage a bit more still.. i'm also running a 2700K but on a much worse board than yours (EVGA Z68 SLI Micro).
4.5 @ 1.285v.. throttles a bit and goes to about 1.3v when under load.

keep at it, but definitely a great start and great drop on the original temps! what heatsink are you using?
be quiet!

greatly appreciate the replies guys thumb.gif

Looks like 1.3v is it. I tried at 1.255v but bluescreened within 30 seconds of getting into windows.

first shot at overclocking, so I am happy so far.. I very happy with my pc running at 4.6GHz. I not really bothered about going any higher at the moment, so I am happy with 4.6GHz

Rhialto is a champion thumb.gif It was his 3 step guide I followed
Which now leaves the question as to if there are any other settings that may be disabled / enabled

if anyone is interested, my previous detailed bios settings are listed in a doc file
bios.rtf 8k .rtf file

thanks again for all replies. its appreciated

@4.6 at 1.255v I blue screened at windows.
But, you have put the idea out there... maybe try for 1.28v maybe??
i am using a H80 & had the fan set on the 2nd out of 3 fan speeds...

what the heck I try for 1.28v biggrin.gif
if it fails, so be it lol

jeez this O/C stuff gets addictive thumb.gif

I drop the volts down to 1.28 & stress it & post the results here shortly

dropped the voltage to 1.28v
run intel burn test with no problems. even tho they are short tests

471

I wonder if the standard settings I am using with IBT are ok, or if I should up the settings? maybe increase the stress level from standard to high?

thanks for the replies
