i7 2600k on p8p67 pro wont speed step!?

ok so something odd is happening,

ive got my system OCed to 4.4 GHZ, thats all fine and dandy

i noticed tho in the past few weeks its been 5/10C hotter then normal,

i checked CPUz and it seems to not throttle back when its got nothing to do.

how do i make it sit at 1600MHZ when its doing nothing rahter then staying at 4.4

also im using XMP to Oc not manual.

Use 1502 redface.gif Aside from the vcore discrepancy..Everything works correctly.

windows power is set to high performance, shouldn't change the speed step tho as i had it on a standard clock and it throttled back to 1600mhz no probs.

edit

using 2103 bios.

updating to 2302 now. brb

Make sure the C1E is set to enabled, not just auto. By default its Auto (=disabled in my case, P8P67 EVO, no matter which firmware)
