That would leave two more GPUs at 320 bit and 384 bit with even more performance?
Seems strange and confusing with the naming scheme this to be true.
If it was are we looking at a 685 and 690 next level names maybe? What about the dual GPU? 690x2 perhaps? Hmmmm any one else find this strange?

If they are really calling this GTX 680, then from my perspective that's a signal that GTX 570 and GTX 580 replacements are going to be GTX 7xx.

Well, going off their previous naming scheme, that'd be correct. GF10x parts were 1st generation, while GF11x parts were second generation Fermi. Following that trend, it'd be reasonable to assume that GK10x parts are first generation Kepler, and GK11x parts are second generation Kepler.

Something I'd like to point out: GT (as in GT 200) stands for Graphics Tesla, GF stands for Graphics Fermi, while GK stands for Graphics Kepler. So Maxwell code names would likely be named GMxxx.

It better be cheap for how long they made us wait lol. If it offers the same price/performance level as a 7950, I'll just buy the 7950 out of spite.

Kyle from Hard says 40-50% better than 580.

If Nvidia decided to name it gtx 680 then it will cost more than $350, that's sure, and it must AT LEAST MATCH 7970'S performance, otherwise they will loose a lot of market and they (Nvidia) know that.

Too many people getting amped up. Paper release / NDA up in 6 days people.

Hopefully its not a semi-upgrade / price pillaging. Don't bicker back and forth its pointless. Nobody has 100% of the picture, its not even unheard of for us to have 0% of the picture. Watch us get hit with a hay maker out from left field.

P.S. All you gamers... Mass Effect 3 is out. Get gaming.

More fuel for the fire over at Fudzilla. Didn't figure it warranted a new thread.

http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/26179-kepler-256-bit-faster-in-dx11-games-than-7970
Quote:
The GK104 is much smaller than Tahiti, Radeon HD 7970 family and according to our intel it should end up faster in some cases. In all DirectX 11 games, Nvidia’s GK104 based Kepler card should end up faster, at least this is what a few sources are confirming.
Quote:
Sources close to Nvidia are confident that the green team will win this round, but as always let’s take this with a grain of salt. Either way, AMD already has 28nm products in the shops and it commands a clear lead over Nvidia, so there is a lot of catching up to do.

One thing I'm confused about. GK110/112 are supposed to be faster than GK104, but yet GK106/108 are slower?? How does that work?
