look for socket 771 quad core xeons, i have 4 running and they are beasts . thay maybe older sockets but not too old
mine are Intel Xeon E5345 CPU 2.33Ghz Quad Core 8M Cache 1333Mhz FSB LGA 771 if thats any help thumb.gif

Well I just got a used i5 750 for $113 shipped. Looks like I'm going 1156! Just need a cheap board.

The 2300 is nice but will cost more from what I calculated. The i5 750 does on par with an 1100T and better than the X4 I had looked at. I can probably get an 1156 board as cheap as AM3
