Compatibility RAM/Mobo

Hello everyone.
I wanted to change my RAM since it gives me problems.
The tricky part is that on the mobo's manufacter site there's a memory compatibility list but i saw people running flawlessly with non listed RAMs.
Can i put sticks that aren't on that list and still run fine?

I got an AsRock 970 Extreme 4 with a 955 BE, if there are any can you suggest me some good RAMs to with that ? biggrin.gif

Thank in advance!

Yes you should be able to use any DDR3 RAM approved for your CPU. The QVL list is just a partial list of RAM that the mobo maker has confirmed to work on that model mobo. Most brand name RAM suppliers tell you in their specs what model CPUs they have confirmed their RAM to work properly with.

For a 955 BE all you need is 1333 MHz. rated RAM but 1600 MHz. RAM is some times cheaper if you find a deal. Most Deneb CPUs won't run RAM beyond 1600-1800 MHz. reliably.

Ok thank you, I'm not planning to run those faster than 1600 anyway, probably i'll just go for the timing redface.gif.

I was thinking about the HyperX ,a G.Skill ripjaws ( is there a Low profile model ?) or a vengeance lowprofile; Which one do you suggest ? biggrin.gif

Corsair does make LP Vengeance RAM.

I have no preference as they all perform just fine. I'd buy the one that YOU like. biggrin.gif
