For a 5.1 set up? A nice Audigy card will do more than just fine.

I bought an used Audigy Gamer for $40 last year and it works great and I did try a set of Klipsch 5.1 system but it wasn't my thing so.......took the speakers back and kept the card.

I would jump on this one. What I do with BIN auctions is bid the maximum to the BIN price and just wait. Then you can get it for a few bucks cheaper that way.

Give up some system specs and the appropriate sound driver might save you some dough...
You might only need to upgrade your speakers.

Try some of the new x-fi products. Maybe the Extreme Gamer (lower end) card...

I have an Audigy 2 Value, I reccomend the 2 ZS but the Value is cheaper and almost the same card, works fine with my Logitech z5300e 5.1 speakers and it sounds great for costing me $50 like a year and a half ago.

that audigy 4 SE is just an OEM audigy 4 card. It is not stripped down in any way
