UnOfficial "BGB16 Prize Drawing Qualification Graph" FINAL - Page 2

While I agree that the qualification points are a bit low, it also gives most people a chance at the high end prizes. With older or low end GPUs, it would take a solid 24 hours or more to hit the 50k barrier. Some people are not capable of doing that, or don't want to sway from their normal projects. Even if you're running CPU only, a modern quad core can come close to 50k in 48 hours with the right projects.

Hmm, maybe it's not an issue, but I swear that I'm seeing the Start values changing on the SKS site, rather than End.

I understand where you are coming from; it must be hard to sit there thinking "I put up x million points for the team every day, and the guy who runs for 48 hours every month and puts up less than 100k gets to win the good prizes". And to be honest I think I would be frustrated in that position too.

Unless you won the top prize...

And the top prize only works if we break 5 Billion points before the end of BGB...

The GTX 560 was a late addition by the "good will" of management... not nice to look a gift horse in the mouth I think...

I'm not. Not even slightly. I'm very grateful for Admin's generosity, as well as the generosity of anyone who donated a prize of any value. I signed up to this BGB before those prizes came up and to be honest I did it for the fun, and the chance to be part of the push for 5B, rather than the prizes. Don't get me wrong, I would still love to win but I won't be upset if I don't (so long as we hit 5B wink.gif).

a bit, a bit. But like was stated, it's to get more and more people to join the event, all in the name of good fun, good times, and science smile.gif

I must admit, my own thoughts ran along those lines to begin with until I did a self-reality check myself... it's human nature...

Never know what the luck of the draw may bring... lottery ticket or whatever... the important part is to have fun shooting for a goal!

Oh man, don't get me started on lottery tickets... My GF is addicted to them and a couple of weeks ago she forgot to buy one, sitting through that draw with her convinced that her numbers were going to come up was hell.

My goal, 500k. If I can break that in the 48 hours I will be happy. Should be reasonably easy so long as I get a decent run.
