So tempting but will likewise probably be sitting with my SR-2 for a few more years.
I know people love right-angled ports these days but it necessitates extra room for cables even more. If the SR-X is *any* wider than the SR-2, you have to keep in mind that those SATA ports are probably alright where they are.
I've crammed a couple 5970s in my current rig atm and they're 3+ inches from even hitting the end of the board and those are LONG cards
. Might have to go measure that though to be sure. For some reason the SR-X looks even wider than the SR-2 to me. Even so with a space between cards, you might lose one or two SATA ports (or I suppose use the SAS ones).
Price is right where it should be I think. You have to keep in mind the SR-2 was around $600 when new so $650 for a modern chipset is not bad.
