I just recently built a new system which is now my sig rig. It's a 2500k, an asrock pro3 gen3, 8GB DDR3 1600, and a PCP&C silencer mkIII 500w power supply.
I don't play games at all so my original thought was to just use the built in Intel 3000 IGP, but I decided I wanted to try out my old 9600GT and see if I liked it any better. When I put the 9600GT in the computer it's fan spins at full speed, but nothing shows up on the screen. If I plug the monitor into the onboard it works, but windows doesn't recognize the 9600GT is there. I have tried the 9600GT in another system, and it works fine. I have also tried an old 8400GT I have lying around in the Z68 and that works fine, but for some reason the two won't work with each other... I tried setting the primary graphics adapter to PCI express in the bios and that made no difference. Any ideas?
