Hello i have a 1090t with a noctua nh-d14 and when i overclock to 4ghz the voltages go to 1.56v on vcore.
Could it be the chip or am i missing something?
SPECS:

asrock 890fx deluxe 4
corsair 750w enthusiast series

503

i feel the Vcore voltage is high for 4Ghz Thuban normally it reaches 4 or 4.2Ghz with 1.475v to 1.525v but it really differs from chip to chip rolleyes.gif
have to tested at lower voltage ?? while underclocking all the components ???try these setting i found

AMD Phenom X6 1090T

Reference clock : 238 MHz
Clock multiplier : 17.5x
Processor clock : 4165 MHz
Memory clock : MHz
Memory controller clock: 2618 MHz
Processor voltage : 1.45V
Memory controller voltage : 1.23V

what cooler are you using and what are the temps at load ????????
offtopic.gif but what theme are you using i like it thumb.gif PM me the link at once if you can redface.gif

Well im using noctua nh-d14 and ambient temps are 20c or below so heating is not a problem but when i set the vcore to 1.47v even at idle it will go to 1.52v

No got rid of it. It was destroying motherboards my new specs are in my first post corsair 750w enthusiast. The modx 700w would burn the in cpu sockets and the voltages never went past 1.54v so i had to buy a new power supply and motherboard.

well i started overclocking it from default by increasing multiplier by .5 each boot i stopped at 3.7 and ran prime95 and i noticed the vcore was at 1.47v that the volts i should have at 4ghz.503

I would not wont my chip to run a 1.6v for 24/7, At that point degradation will become an issue after a while.

Depends on how long you want your chip to last, You can have low temps and still cause damage to the chip after prolonged periods.

id say worst case Is you will have to keep bumping the volts every now and then in order to keep it stable.
