cpu mobo question ivy bridge compatibility ?

ok i know ivy bridge will be backwards compatible with LGA 1155

my question is will it be compatible with CURRENT 1155 motherboards
and if so what manufactures
ASUS
Gigabit ect

so would i need to upgrade from my ASUS P8H67-M LE to use ivy bridge or just a bios update or is this still not known
i know using a current gen mobo you will lose some features.

In the table at the bottom of this page, ASUS states that many of their motherboards already have BIOS support for Ivy Bridge CPUs. The P8H67-M is on that list, but the P8H67-M LE is not. That may or may not be an oversight. I suggest you contact support and mention that page to see if your motherboard has Ivy Bridge bios support, or if it will be getting a bios update.

If it works you may not get PCI-E 3.0 functionality.

Excellent, glad to hear it.

Those new CPU's could be new Sandy Bridge CPUs however (2550K, 2380P, etc). You should probably check with ASUS before you buy an Ivy Bridge.
