I just ordered my EVO 3D with Sprint UNLIMITED! I left VZN mainly because of data caps.
49$ for a top notch phone with a 69$ a month plan gets me a 4g hotspot that can replace my internet service from Time Warner thumb.gif
Eat that TWC and Verizon!

sprints hot spot is capped at 5gb

unless you root and tether, but i wouldn't recommend that for home internet.

i love my evo 3d, its a great phone.

Yes I will be "root and tethering." And it cant be worse than the 20Mbps that is actually 10-12Mbps that TCW charges 45$ per month for.

TWC is the ONLY provider in my area... rolleyes.gif Monopoly anyone?

Still a shame my good ole Droid X isn't getting updated officially. EncounterICS is a sort of ported ICS for the Droid and I used it for a couple weeks, but it was too buggy. Ended up just going back to MIUI. With the ICS theme, it's just as good, if not better. ICS was made for dual cores, so...
I'm not too concerned with getting an official ICS update. I'm fine with MIUI till Jelly Bean.

I would be happy if I could get more than 1Mbps download speed on Sprint's Unlimited network doh.gif What is the point of having an "Unlimited" plan when it is to slow to actually be useful

My contract end this month and will definitely move over to Verizon. I really hope the new phones sporting HD-screen and next-gen processor will be coming soon.

I was planing on getting either the Razr MAXX or the Galaxy Nexus but the new phones are just too big of a jump in hardware.

This is the first and last time I ever buy a Samsung phone, ya they have great screens but that's that. They're worse than HTC used to be with updating their phones. There isn't CRAP for support for my Samsung Charge, it's a great phone, great screen, runs really smooth but god forbid SAMSUNG UPDATES THE FREAKING THING.

I'm running out of companies to buy an Android from, I won't buy Motorola anymore since they're going back to their old ways of crapping all over the customers and dropping the ball and their screens are terrible. LG I like usually but they're new to the Android game and the only one I've seen really was the revolution. HTC..well....I might have to start using them even thought their phones are built out of paper and sticks.

Actually, the biggest reason is the same as what's going on with my Droid 2 Global. All 3 phones (X, X2, D2G) are physically capable of running ICS - likely with somewhat reduced functionality, but capable. It's just that they are all either past their EOL period of 2 years from launch, or really close to it. Why build/deploy an update for an older phone when they can use it as extra motivation to renew your 2 year contract and replace said phone? Don't get me wrong; I'm not knocking Verizon. All the major cell service providers do it this way. I'm a bit unhappy with the fact that I still have well over a year before my contract is up, but that's my fault for not researching my phone more. It was already a year out of date when I got it. In the meantime, I'll be rooting mine before too much longer.

Good luck with the Root and OC. ICS is very slick, and the new UI is awesome thumb.gif

You should probably research that one. The X and 2G may be getting close, but the X2 was formally released in May 2011, but it didn't actually start being heavily sold until July or later. It still has a lot of time left on the clock. My Dad's Droid (the original) got an update to 2.2 before they stopped updating the OS. The X2 is about 3-5 times as powerful as the original Droid, so this makes absolutely no sense at all. The original Droid was a popular phone, but then again, so is the X and the X2.

The X2 deserves an ICS update. No question about it. Even with ONLY 512mb of RAM (my 2.8Ghz P4 system came with that much ram) it still has a very capable dual core and will have no problem running ICS.

The Inspire has 768MB of ram and I hit 30% free on a regular basis. 512MB is a problem.
