[PC World] Robotic Cheetah Sets a New Robot Land Speed Record, Leaves Humans in its Dust - Page 4

It's not running backwards doh.gif

340

354

The mechanics involved here was hard enough to get it to move that quickly and accurately
The feet throws it off making us think it's running backwards

I think thinking.gif

umm...dont see how pictures of the sky show how air is more stable...air is invisible unless something gets added to it, like smoke. once smoke is added you can see that turbulence in the air can make it more difficult for aerial vehicles to fly. meanwhile the ground is visible and it is also a solid. comparing gases versus solids, which are more energetic? air. because air is more energetic, it makes it more unstable.

also, the skies aren't permanently clear for most places in the world...(might be all, but i don't know if all deserts have sandstorms or not >.>)

forgot to post another advantage, 4 legged vehicles can turn much quicker, and sharper than any aerial vehicle. or even compared to something with wheels.

@bodycount: its mostly dependant on the processor and the programming...mechanical is pretty simple in this robot.

EDIT: watched the video again and noticed how it doesnt actually have feet... that makes this robot a lot easier to programming and less complex mechanics...

It doesn't really leave humans in it's dust though. I ran 25 MPH once, or it could have been KM/h I can't remember laugher.gif Most likely KM/h.

What if you saw that running right at you @ 18mph, I'd be pretty disturbed by such a scene.

Exactly what I was thinking!!

*Yawns* what we could be doing with money and time far and above this might be worth considering, this isn't even remotely worthy of either.
