New Intel Build, looking for advice please :)

Thread Starter
Hey guys,
I'm currently looking into a new build, the build will be used mainly for gaming in 3d... however I would like to look into the possibility of overclocking also or at at least have the option to smile.gif

Here are the specs I have come to so far:

Asus P67 Sabertooth (1155) B3 Revision Mobo £124.99
Intel i7 2700k 3.5ghz (Sandybridge) (1155) £224.99
Corsair Dominators 16gb quad channel Pc3-12800c7 1600mhz £124.99
Evga Gtx580 3072mb Gddr5 x2 £749.98
OCZ Vertex 3 120gb SSD £112.49

+delivery total cost £1362.44

Cpu waterblock Xspc Raystorm (1155) £41.66
Gpu Blocks EK-FC580 direct waterblock (nickel) x2 £164.06
Pump: Swiftech MCP35X £59.99
FrozenQ Liquid Fusion V Red 250mm Res £52.49

Cost without Delivery £318

Case: I am currently looking at Little Devils http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/Little-Devil-Cooling-Big-Tower-PC-V8-W-4W-White_25714.html

Case £389

That is it so far, I know I've missed several things that are of course needed but I am not entirely sure what's best for the build?
I do have a Psu atm it is a trusty and reliable PCP&C 1KW from a few years back XD http://www.pcpower.com/power-supply/turbo-cool-1kw-sr.html he is a little hefty but very trusty!
What are your opinions for the Psu? change it or stick with it?
So I'm missing a radiator, tubing, fittings and fans plus various other things (accessories).

I am looking for advice with the currently selected parts and missing parts for the build, I am open to all suggestions etc.
From the cost so far I am looking to spend no more than another £400 on the rest of the items needed smile.gif
It has been some time since i jumped into the watercooling side of things and actual building process so please treat me as a beginner tongue.gif

I look forward to your suggestion and opinions,
Thank you
Dave.

What RAM are you getting? 1GB sticks?what?

Dont buy that 580, get a EVGA classified2 with the Waterblock built in, its top notch and basically the same price. No need to spend the extra 120 on a sketchy EK block. (I have one).

thats alot of cash for a case, but it will look awesome with the right lighting and colour choices.

I'd get two HD 7970's vs 580 3GB's any day.. unless Kepler is released when I'm buying. I'd just make sure they are reference so you can get the blocks for them.

I'd keep the PSU, as well. I'm running a PC P&C 750W Quad and its still solid for me.

I do like my current Psu the only issue with it I have is that it is bulky biggrin.gif
I have been the AMD way with Gpu's before, why do you recommend those cards over 2 580's?
As for the Evga 580 classifieds, how do the waterblocks compare to others? Are they better, on par? This rig I am looking to build I want to last for a few years with gaming so I would rather spend those few extra £££ if needed.
I have heard about the Kepler's coming soon and to be honest this build is only in the planning stages so those cards would of course be a possibilty biggrin.gif I also heard something about new intel cpu chips coming soon too (Ivy)
I will have to make a post in the watercooling section for my cooling parts as I assume this is the wrong section to be asking for that kind of info.

The case is very pricey but I am extremely fussy with cases... I have searched for weeks on end trying to find a case to suit me smile.gif I have found no other cases other than the little devil that I like, I really liked the design of the older Lian Li's but now I find alot of cases with mesh... I dislike the mesh it is not to my taste hehe.

They run cooler, quieter, and have more power.

Read the OP carefully. He said he is doing 3D Rendering.

Apologies guys and nicely pointed out Azeem, but I didn't mean 3D rendering. By 3d I meant gaming.. will edit my original post so it is clearer smile.gif
Again sorry for the confusion.

As for the HD7970's in crossfire, I did some more research and found out infact that overall they seem to out perform the 580's. I'm going to spend more time waiting and perhaps see what Kepler has to offer before making any rash decisions smile.gif
