Looking for a second opinion

Alright, I have decided on picking up the Phantom 410 for $90 shipped. At least, I think I've decided. I keep looking at other cases but I'm always going back to the Phantom. I'm not looking to do water cooling, at least not right away. I'm just curious if there's any other cases I should consider before I take the plunge tonight and buy the Phantom. I'm looking to stay under $100 for the case, ideally, including shipping charge.

Cases I've considered, and reasons I decided against each:
- Bitfenix Raider - Out of stock, not sure I like the design.
- Cooler Master CM690II Advanced - Don't really like the look of it. Can't seem to find one with USB 3.0 and don't see myself using the hotswap bay.
- Bitfenix Shinobi - I like the look of this case, just feel like I can get something better for my budget.
- Fractal Design Arc Midi - Dont know how I feel about the look of this one. Something about the face plate just looks wrong to me. Otherwise, good case.
- NZXT Source 220/210 Elite - Again, feel like I can do better with my budget.

Any opinions are welcome. I appreciate any input you can offer.

Thanks,
NV43

you've already rejected your best option biggrin.gif so not alot to say about your choices. go with what you like and live with the choice....

IMO phantom is a gimmick case, but then again i'm older and doesn't appreciate flashy, gamery, enough lights to blind a normal person, type of cases anymore. it's likely you'll buy the phantom, then spend another $60 to $100 on aftermarket fans and maybe another $50 on led light kit, because that's what everybody tells you to do whether you need it or not...

if you are interested in performance, go with what you KNOW. if you want flashy, gimmicky, then go with what you WANT smile.gif

As an older person who just bought a Phantom 410 last week( and likes "flashy ,gimmicky" lights wink.gif ) I'll say I love it. It comes with a fair amount of fans already so you don't "need" to buy more and the LED light kit from NZXT is around $18 on amazon.com.( also you can set it up with no LED lights at all if you want) On a serious note it has plenty of room, great cable management and good airflow. Looks aside ( even though I love the way it looks also) it is a great case.

Yea...that's not happening. I just want a case that I like, that will fit my components and air cool well, with possible expansion for water cooling at a later date. I don't care about the number of LEDs in my case, nor do I care about how many fans I can fit in the thing. I just want something efficient and a good value.

The face plate is the weakest aspect of the case. it's a general pain to deal with and the fan mounting system is rather limiting (just in faceplate). Other than that it's probably the best case I've had. I have no experience with Bitfenix cases, but I've never touched anything from NZXT or Coolermaster that didn't come off like a cheap toy. I'd stick with Corsair, Silverstone, Lian-Li or Fractal, and try to find the one that sucks the least per your preferences.

It's a sad state of affairs. All cases have something aggravating about them. I think theres a law that mandates it. One thing I recommend is stick to a case that makes smart use of 120mm fans and pick up a handful of $6 Yate Loons.
