AVOID that motherboard and all low end MSI AMD boards in general due to VRM failure problems.  bav182 I suggest you look into this.....

That PSU is also one to avoid

This budget can easily fit a Phenom II x4 960T + HD 6950 based PC.  6850 is extremely underwhelming.

Hard drive choice is also quite eh.....

Here's a cheaper 1TB

or 2TB 7200RPM for still cheaper

Gotta agree with XD here. cheapo MSI boards are bad news

This M4A88T-V-EVO would work nicely for less and will handle overclocking without catastrophic failure unlike that MSI

Better 960T proc for $115

2 of the 1x4 samsung 30nm ddr3 ~$27 each (WAY better overclocking ram)

6950 2GB $270

NZXT source 220 for $47

OCZ ZS Series 650W 80PLUS Bronze $56 amir/coupon

~$605 amir's

500gb 7200 rpm HDD

you could definitely find better deals than that

I would have to agree here.
@op, since you will want to avoid that PSU you should be able to find a good case a PSU, but I doubt it is going to be as cheap. There are things you simply do not want to skimp on, the PSU and case are the starters on that list.

^ That's more like it!!! But I do not suggest the A50 on AMD platforms as it won't perform that well due to the mounting system; CPU blows upward unless you buy another bracket to correct it for $5-10.  Get a Hyper 212+ NCIX $23 or Enermax ETS T40 TB and be done with it; perhaps reduce the cost by choosing the ASUS M5A97 which can push that processor OC just fine, or claim the 2x4GB DDR3-1600 kit that costs less and perhaps does not OC as well but can still maintain 1600Mhz speeds.

y go with a Asus M5A97 4+2 Phases instead of a 970A-UD3 8+2 Phases ?? you can get a 212+ @23$ and a 212 EVO @ 29.33$thumb.gif

Your right, MSI VRM's are bad (got mine before the horror stories) I been lucky with mine so far but I thought it would be OK for a budget build.. The HD 6850 is a decent card though, obviously if budget permits a HD 6950 much better.

Sorry to add again, the PSU is a model they don't sell over here in the UK. Guess you can't go to wrong with Corsair/OCZ/Be Quiet!.
