MaxxMEM2 - Samsung DDR3L 2400Mhz

Thread Starter

I successfully boot my Samsung DDR3L ram at 2400Mhz with 1.53v and I've done a short benchmark below screen shot. Why the Copy and Write speed is much slower than other people benchmarked on the same ram?

Any ideas? I've seen above 20000MB+/sec (all 3 bars) on other people system.

Are you comparing against the same benchmark? Maxxmem scores differently then AIDA,Sandra etc. You should also hit the submit button to get an actual score.

That does seem very slow. My overclocked dual channel 1600Mhz is beating that.

It's because you're on a quad channel X79. MaxxMem will give you a lower result. I'm not sure if Aida64 has the same issue but if you want to compare the 3930k against dual channel boards forget MaxxMem. I think triple channel memory configs may also throw off maxxmem.

Here's a snapshot of a test I did at 2133 10-10-10-28-1T 90trfc 1.435v

Something is wrong there my score for 2400MHz mem is a lot higher i know that more CPU MHz give better score but its not my + 500MHz that give me more 10k pts. Maybe nms43 is right something with Hexacores

The word on this def needs to be spread. Anywhere these screenshots are posted you'll find confused x79 owners with much lower scores! It's not the hex core, it's the X79 platform (happens with the 3820 as well) so clearly it must be to do with the quad channel memory.

Maxmem needs an update to fix this issue
The quad channel X79 platform has slower memory performance in single threaded applications. In real world use where the RAM is being accessed by multiple threads is where they pull ahead. Here's some good reading on the subject: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/memory/display/lga2011-ddr3_2.html
