if you aren't set on a z68 board.... i would get the p67 version...for a bit more and get the GEN4, they are awesome boards...and only $25 more than your GEN3

http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0373371

and yes..you don't need 16gb of ram.

CM 212+ will get you 4.5 ghz easy on that GEN4 board.

16gb is really worthless unless your doing some pretty heavy programs, i say spring for the asrock

the only reason i didnt go to the p67 is that the ones i posted are $50 off when you buy the 2500k, so 125 ends up being 75, where that p67 doesn't have the discount so its 185 plus the 2500k

So i went with the Biostar TZ68A+ and the i5 2500k. when i do the replacement I'll put a little build and clock review and let you guys know how it goes.

In case anyone was wondering, I went to Microcenter, I got the I5 2500k, the Biostar TZ68A+, 8gb of kingsington 1333 (4x2), and a CM 212 with an extra 2year no questions asked warrenty on the Mobo for 340 out the door. OUT THE DOOR. so freaking awesome. oh, and a sata DVD-RW because i only have an IDE here lol. OG FOOL!

(as you can tell, i'm fairly excited, now to just get my account ABLE to sell stuff on here so i can start getting rid of all this old AM2 gear i have lying around.)

Every board on that page atm is better than any of your picks
If you didn't get the tz68k+ ..you're wasting money and time
The gigabyte board is the best out of what you listed..and it's 4+1 and meh

again, the reason those were the mobo choices was because the chip was 180 and the board ended up costing 40. those others were way way way higher. is the difference really worth 150 bucks?

I say the Asrock, I have it and it's awesome. Not many people need more than 8gb of RAM so you might not either. I do, and plan to get more soon enough.
