Hi All!

I wanted to create a poll to see the level of enthusiasm for the upcoming lineup from Intel!

I have never done this before, but I am getting my Z77 ahead of time, and scanning the space-time continuum for the first available IB that drops (still undecided between 3570K and 3770K).

Good or bad, I want to sink my teeth into some new tech for once. I am sure I'm not alone! thumb.gif

I don't have a build at the moment, so I'm getting it immediately.
I know that it's a bad idea because it will most likely have issues like SB did at launch, but I'm willing to take the risk.

Same goes for kepler

Going to wait a few months. Will be sitting back and watching threads about IB.

Will be going with the 3770K. I can't justify going from a 2500K to a 3570K to get 10% IPC, so the 3770K HT and +2mb of cache will give me the incentive.

Just did my SB build 6 months ago. So I probably won't buy another processor for 2 or so years.

I am very much looking forward to building an IB system when it releases. I too will probably buy a Z77 mobo ahead of time. I'll still wait to go over reviews once IB hits shelves and if it has problems I'll just pick up a SB-E and wait for IB-E. So far the plan is to water cool it and see how high I can run a daily OC. It will be my first all new tech build, all my other systems have been a generation behind, and my first intel build. It'll also be my first high quality water loop, no cheap crappy parts for this build biggrin.gif

I'm going with a 3770K and still undecided on mobo's since sneak peaks are just starting to surface but I'm liking the ASRock Extreme 6. What mobo do you guys plan to use? Any updates on the IB release date and delays?

@Degree,

I f you can hold out for IB, I salute you! Hopefully we wont experience another issue like the Cougar Point flaw, but a Gen3 Z68 would avoid that.

@thx1138,

Good luck you your new build, I'll sub that build log!

My budget is constrained, and I usually build piece by piece. I'd like to get a high end mobo like a Maximus or UD7, but they are a bit pricy. I have had nothing but ASUS, and they have served me well with only minor issues. I would not mind trying something new. Even though they have come a long way, ASrock still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. They used to be built from low end ASUS parts, but they are pretty popular now. They are still a bit cheaper than most, and that worries me as I am a firm believer of "you get what you pay for". So right now I am leaning towards the P8Z77-V deluxe, P8Z77-V WS, or the ROG GENE. I am hoping there is a round-up with the Z77 boards using SBs as a test platform.

I lost out on E0, and X58 by jumping the gun on my last rig, so evidently I have learned nothing. But that's also why I am not getting an SB right now.

I really like the X79 platform, but I would not get as much use out of it as I would like. I like that that there will be another generation of chips for it. >SB-E performance on 22nm power is mighty tempting.

@ lostcase...

Could you sig rig also be called "Last AMD Rig"? tongue.gif

J/K... I hope they strike back... I wanted BD to do well so I could go AMD.

thats my plan too. i need a Matx board.

i think HT will be more beneficial in the future so i'll go with that.

iv been doing other things with my computer lately not just gaming so the extra threads help.

i just bought the H100 for it too. will be using it on my 930 for now to see how it holds up.
