Was the Diamondback 3g's hardware gimped in comparison to Deathadder?

I never got a chance to order a Diamondback 3g before they were discontinued and had always been a fan of the original Diamondback. I went searching and found one on Craig's List, but after some research, I discovered that it has no option to change polling rate in the drivers. Supposedly the mouse defaults to 125hz. You could always force a higher polling rate, but after researching more, I hear people claim 500hz will work fine but 1000hz isn't even stable on the mouse?

Is this mouse gimped somehow in comparison to the Deathadder 3g version with same sensor?

A mouse with the same sensor doesn't mean much.

The likely hood is that the diamondback 3G has an older or different controller unit. Elan iirc.

Didn't the diamondback have a 3080?

nvm: they changed the sensor in the 3g tongue.gif
