My run on Page 1 is over

Thread Starter
My living on page 1 lasted about a year but since I cannot fold heavy enough in the heat (and to a great degree since I refused to "work the hack") there is no way I can stay in the top 100.It is a bit of a milestone passing for me (sure would like my 15 million badge).I will be throwing a few points towards the cause but I think I will become more involved with watercoolng and getting my test station complete.I have learned that there is no better test of equipment configuration than folding and every WU I start I will finish. There still are the FaT's but it is too,too hot to put out good ppd with multiple rigs.I just got the i7-970 I bought running just like I wanted.Perhaps I start a WU around 9.00PM (it takes until 9.00 to start cooling down here (we have a few weeks left, but not many) and I can let it run unti 9.00 AM but then off they go.I am going to work on getting the 6.34 client configured on USB sticks in Debian, lets see how that goes.

You do not need to run the core hack to run bigadv on a 970 you just need Linux and the -smp and -bigadv flags. Stanford is still allowing the 6 core / 12 threaded machines to run bigadv. So let er rip. thumb.gif

Ya I understand what you mean I grew up in New Mexico and know that summer can be a beast. You at least have the sub freezing nights pretty much year around (if your weather is similar). I am not looking forward to the fast approaching summer of idle temps peaking in the mid 90s and now that I am folding more than likely in the high 100s

I just started folding towards the end of last summer so I have yet to experience the heat from my rig running 24/7 but I imagine I will have to fold less or not at all during the summer months. At very least I will have to drastically turn back my overclocks. We will just have to see.
