I personally love windows vista I can play all my games just fine in it, and I cant wait for DX10 halo 2 for pc will pwn, crysis will rock, unreal 2007 will be amazing ( and it uses my physx card) vista is just so much better of an operating system new faster graphics cards, and modern processors make up for the speed decrease in everyday use i find vista is faster than XP, when it comes to gaming bf2 no difference, company of heroes i havent tried since rc1 but it had some funny graphical anomolies that were not supposed to be there

Yeah, there is...windows classic theme

I checked it out on rc1, probably going to install rc2 soon.

I played bf2 on vista, and I got some crazy stuttering....but I can't hold vista responsible for that, other than bf2 not liking vista. Reason I can't: Bf2 is a piece of crap.

Noshibby.....halo 2's gameplay will be good I'm sure, but that game looks crappy as hell...I saw some screenshots and it looks like they stretched the xbox version out, just like they did halo 1.

Guys, the reason it is slower on our computers is because its a new OS that is pushing the hardware section to finally upgrade and move on. Vista is finally requiring more the 256 RAM, a crappy celeron, and a 80gig HD for a computer. Vista is pushing us into a new era of hardware. Dualcore required, 2gig RAM for midrange performance, super fast vid card. Im so glad that this is finally happening.

And another thing, usually when something requires something that isnt out yet to run correctly, ITS GOING TO RUN SLOWER ON STUFF THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Mr. "i cant wait for Dx10... (next post) **** VISTA IS SO SLOW ON MY 7600 OMG SCREW M$"

Look at reality people we're testing vista on current gen hardware when the final product wont run on it, its for the better.

And BF2 runs fine in RC1 exept... It takes a while to start, and the grass and trees still have the block of green color around them as it is rendered in pre-DX10 mode... NFS MW runs great too.

Sorry if this post is sarcastic but i cant stand people who are arrogant and dont look at all the facts cough* \\/#49\\/ *cough.

Selectodude, please get a grip.
Explain the fundamental differences between Vista and Win2k? What's the actual difference that effects usability? Is there one? Is there something I'm missing? I've only used every build since Longhorn 4015. Should it require 2GB of RAM and a dual-core processor to browse the web? Honestly, you get a grip, and learn and realize what you're saying. You're making 0 sense.

If you look, I have a pretty modern computer that runs Vista fine. It was 1200 dollars. Is a 1200 dollars computer the baseline for Vista? Is that really what you're saying?

AOL brings fast computers to their knees. Is that a good thing? I guess in your view it would be...or perhaps it is the result of some very, very poorly coded software. An operating system should not push the limits of your computer. The only thing that should do that is the latest games, rendering software, etc.
