Unfortunately the GT555M in the Y570 is the stripped GF108 (96 cores). Also, the only resolution available is 1366 x 768. The GT555M in the XPS17 L702X is the GF106 (144 cores) which is much better and you can get up to 1080p resolution. Overall, the XPS will provide a better gaming experience, however it will be less portable. If you have a problem carrying a 7.5 pound laptop don't even consider a 17".

Some 17s are under 7lbs smile.gif
My hp dv7 17.3in is 6.65lbs. was carrying my m11x around which is 4.5lbs and this hp replaced it and i don't mind carrying the hp around which i do everyday. Worth the screen size and res too me.

But ya 17in xps laptops are monsters, Still have my old dell 9300 which is pretty much a xps m170 and i think that is around 8 or 9lbs lol

well it looks like the options are now the HP or keeping my rig and just buying a netbook for uni. The XPS has gone back to almost double the price (it was on sale) and the Lenovo has also gone to $400 more than the HP and according to benchmarks the 7690m is faster than the 555m in the lenovo.
