New Water Cooled PC - Sugestions needed!

Hello all

This is my first adventure into water cooling and would greatly appreciate your input and know how.

I have been offered the following free of charge (only postage costs ~£15)

XSPC - Radiator 120 (Single 120mm rad, not dual)

Hydor L25 Inline Water Pump 240v AC Pump

Danger Den Dual 3 1/2" Floppy Bay Reservoir

Are these sufficient?

Also I require a S939 CPU Block, DDR Memory Block (For my BH-5), and maybe GPU and NB blocks at a later date.

Any advise or suggestions on the missing parts of the system would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all!

if you're gonna cool all that I would strongly advice you to get a bigger Rad

and for Cpu block the apoge is IMO a very good choice

you dont really need a NB block and if you're using a SLI-D I would advise against a NB block cause it's going to be a thight fit I would just get a good aftermarket solution
post #4 of 19
tgry this for your nb since that board is going to be a pain to get a water set into with your vid cards (trust me i tried it)
http://www.vadim.co.uk/Cooling+%26+M...Chipset+Cooler

the ram thing well i havnt tried that but good air flow and heat spreaders

would prob be fine personally i would just go with your cpu and gpu, keeps your flow good and your system can get rid of the heat very well

Yeah ive only really got the space for a single rad on the back unless you could suggest another way of fitting it all in.

Here is a pic of how its setup currently:

I thought I can get a single 120mm rad on the back but where else

You should be able to fit a BIX ll on the back if you use a Swiftech rad box to mount it..EDIT: Apogee is a good cpu block..

Don't get a RAM waterblock, it'll just restrict flow. Just strap a fan onto them.

Ah did not think about that lol.

Since the SI-120 is the thing thats blocking me putting a fan on the memory I should be ok once I cool the CPU with water and free up a bit of space.

I like the look of the rad box, could be a nice way of rigging it all up

So if I rule out RAM cooling and stick to CPU and NB (maybe)

Not sure if its worth putting a block on the 6800GT since im not sure how long I will keep it. Are the blocks generic or are they specific to each range ie 6 series 7 series etc

Thanks again
