NEED HELP! horrible horrible screen tearing

Okay i've been having a probleme with my graphic card recently, everywhere i go to explain my probleme, people tell me activate v-sync...but i don't want to! because this never happened untill recently

take a look

I tried nearly everything! mad.gif

-Uninstalling Drivers/Re-installing
-Make sure all my drivers are up to date (chipset,bios,etc...)
-Fresh format
-Different cables (DVI,HDMI,etc)
-Different monitors
-Different resolutions
-Messed around in nVidia pannel for hours

The video was on Skyrim, i wouldn't mind THAT much if v-sync was enabled. but its a big no no in bf3,counter strike and other fps.

i play alot of cs and anyone knows that counter strike and v-sync don't match...

my specs are

i7 2600k
gtx 580 direct cu II running 295.73 drivers
8gb ddr3 kingston 1600mhz
intel 510 series 120gb
msi p67a-g43 mobo

that's pretty much it

please help frown.gif

PLEASE DON'T TELL ME TO ENABLE V-SYNC AS I WOULD TAKE IT AS A TROLL ATTEMPT
post #2 of 20
how is enabling V-Sync bad in fps games exactly? having higher frame rates is not going to help you play the game better in any way.

screen tearing like that is almost always a driver fault. try an older driver or wait for a new one to come out.

also that tearing really isnt that bad, ive seen a lot worse, like with crossfire in Crysis 2 when it was released.

Uninstall your driver, clean the old driver files out with "driver sweeper" and then clean install the new driver.
See if that helps.

Are you using this onto a HDTV?
Because Crysis, both 1, Warhead and 2 have that engine where it automatically sets it to 24HZ(movie mode when a TV is detected)and you will need to either push ALT+ENTER multiple times to cycle through or simply play in Windowed mode...

Hope that helps...

Are you using a HDMI cable or DVI? It might be your cable.

Yup, I did try different cables. two different HDMI and another DVI that came with my monitor...

i love resolving computers issue...but when it's my personal stuff i wanna kill myself!

anyway i'll try different things today..and if people want to help me please continue suggesting me things to try...

tonight i'll probably switch motherboard..thank god my brother has an intel motherbaord with 1155 socket...

if it's not that than i'll just RMA my card i already have the number and Asus gave me a shipping slip so i have nothing to lose if i just try to RMA it and see

Use afterburner lock fps to 58 then enable v-sync you won't get tearing or mouse lag
