Free software+how to clone current 60 GB SSD to new 120 GB SSD? - Page 2

I'm going to have to try this on my SSD as a backup incase i ever have to do a system restore or something later on without losing any of my current data.

Alright the new SSD finally arrived, but since I'm migrating from a small 60 GB SSD to a larger 120 GB SSD, instead of the long/arduous back-up routine above, I'm instead going to try just a direct disk clone (using the same software).

Right now I've got my new 120 GB SSD within a USB 3.0 enclosure, hooked up to the laptop (and a flash drive hooked up for storage of EaseUS's temporary files needed for the cloning from the internal 60 GB SSD). Estimated time to clone the disk is ~21 minutes; I selected the "optimize for SSD" as well as "sector-by-sector clone" options.

Clone just finished, I'll report back with results! It looks like I'll have to extend the partition created on the 120 GB SSD to make it a single contiguous volume (no biggie)

-EDIT: Results-
Yup, I just had to go into disk management and extend the partition created by EaseUS to reclaim the remainder of the unallocated space (~55 GB or so). Now I've got a single drive with all the data from the 60 GB SSD, plus an extra 55 GB of space! Microsoft Security Essentials had to be turned on/re-enabled but besides that everything appears to be intact
