looking for a tablet.....

Thread Starter
I've been interested in getting a tab for awhile now but have not had the money for it, anyways im just looking for something that i can use around the house, im not looking for any 3g/4g as im likely not going to take it out of the house, i'll be using it for browsing the web and some media, also will likely get an app to control my pc (KMPlayer/Foobar) size isn't all that important for me, i can deal with a screen of 7", and for price i'd like to keep it under $300, what possible tablets should i be looking at?

[edit]
there is someone in my local area selling a used older galaxy tab 7" (GT-P1000) for $200 running on gingerbread and full root, is this worth the price? can i somehow upgrade this older tab to use honeycomb?

Personally I think 7" tablets are too small. If you can go $50 over budget I would highly recommend this tablet: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Iconia-A200-10g16u-10-1-Inch-Titanium/dp/B006XGCQ2U/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1331175742&sr=8-5

Always buy new if you have the cash. It's worth it in the long run.
