Thank you!

The monitor is perfect, and I was even happier when I saw it was newer Rev. tongue.gif

I had to contact dell when I tried to register my 3 u2311's. Always got an indian guy. Not only that, but I purchase my monitors through amazon since it was about $80 cheaper per monitor. Apparently Dell had no way to transfer a warranty from a small business to a personal user (amazon to me), and they don't supply serial numbers unless it was purchased through them. Also, I am assuming there was no way for them to setup a new warranty for me. Basically, in order to get the Warranty, Dell makes you purchase through them. I gave up calling them as it was about a week of calling them everyday to find out that they really don't care about the customer, they just want their money and they want you to pay the premium price through them. I hope nothing goes wrong with these monitors in the time I have left. They are only about 6 months old.

I love these things, but after trying to register the warranty, I will find another IPS. Asus looks like they have some good ones.

I can't even RMA mine. I could try, but I doubt I'll get very far if I ever have an issue. Good luck with it man, Dell just doesn't care, and neither do the people taking your calls halfway around the world. It sucks.

You don't need to register them, in fact I never registered mine.

You just email or call them and supply them with your monitors' Service Tag and Serial Number and they'll replace it. thumb.gif

That was the problem though, since I got it through amazon, there was no service tag. I have S/n's but they always wanted the service tag.

Glad you got your figured out btw. Dell is definitely a big pain to deal with.

You sure it has no Service Tag in the back? It should be a separate sticker, weird...

I'm glad all this is done, really like the monitor. tongue.gif

I am quite sure Amazon would deal with your RMA in this case then, Amazon has a pretty damn good client support! thumb.gif

The seller agreed to it, and it would be better than dealing with dell. I looked it up and apprently dell monitors either under a certain size or alltogether do not get service tags, yet dell always asks for a service tag. Basically, dell made things difficult.

Luckily, nothing has happened yet, and hopefully wont. I would hate to have to call and possibly deal with dell again. Everyone that does seems to have horror stories like yours.
