E6700 @ 3400 MHz. on air.

Thread Starter
I've got my C2D E6700 & Asus P5B Deluxe @ 3400 MHz. on an Artic Freezer 7 Pro CPU fan cooler.

340 X 10 = 3400 MHz.
DDR2 680 MHz. Mem. Voltage @ 2.25v
Vcore @ 1.45v
FSB Term. Voltage @ 1.40v
NB Vcore @ 1.45v

Temps are @ low 40's idle, and 58-62 @ 100% load, do you think I will be safe running these temps 24-7 or should I drop back some?

i would say that those temps are ok

I would drop back some, the upper 50's and 60's are pushing it quite a bit. Nice OC though!

If I rememer correctly, the temp threshold for the C2D chips are a lot lower than the prescotts, so I would try to keep it under at least 55 or ideally 50 while under load.

I agree, this is what I get for temps when running @ 3330 MHZ and stock voltages.
Anything over 333 is when I have to start upping the voltages.

It is odd that the TAT program is reading a LOWER temp than your Ai Suite......but that happens I guess.....Ai Suite is not always accurate.

The TAT temperature is read from the core, the max temperature guidelines given by Intel is approx 60c..........an overclcoked CPU shoul dnot be run at the max temperatures.......

At that voltage, Christmas is about the only guess I would give

I am running at 400x8-> 3.400ghz....but vcore in bios at 1.38v, in windows, 1.34. CpuZ also reg'd vcore at 1.34v. I think you could lower your a little. Have you tried to bench @ different vcore settings to see if you can find an "optimal" setting?

*I have not had the need to hit 1.4v until 3.45, and that voltage was acceptable through 3.55ghz.
