Hooking up TV via HDMI

Hey guys, I finally got a chord to hook up my computer to my 50' Flatscreen TV and I'm having an issue. I am willing to make the two connect fine but can't put the screen on both at the same time. Every time I try to put it on both via "Multiple Displays" tab on the "Screen Resolution" window I can only choose > "Show desktop only on 2" , "Show desktop only on 1"

I have two other choices > "Extend these displays" , "Duplicate these displays" but after choosing one or the other and pressing the 'Apply' button I get an error message saying: "Unable to save display settings"

At first i though it was just the jack I'm plugging into on my PC so I changed it and same thing. I also thought it could have be the resolution settings since my TV can go to a higher res than my pc monitor so after making them the same resolution, no dice. I tried restarting while it was plugged in and it just shows up on my TV on startup.

Can anyone give me any pointers? biggrin.gif

You want to select "duplicate these displays"

Also, are both screens the same res?
